"Femmage to Maria Szymanowska" took place at the Espace des Femmes (35, rue Jacob - 75006 Paris) on September 17 and 18, as part of the Heritage Days.
This show, delicately crafted by pianist Solène Péréda www.solenepereda.com and actress Typhaine D linktr.ee/typhained, unfolds around the correspondence of Maria Szymanowska and allows us to grasp the surprising modernity of the first polish composer-concertist. The extremely large audience was quickly won over by the theatricality of the staging, the virtuosity and finesse of a piano playing as sensitive as it is subtle, in line with what Elżbieta Zapolska evoked during her last interview, a month before her death: "Performing the works of Maria Szymanowska is, in my eyes, a bit like interpreting contemporary music: for that, you need very high-class artists if you want what no one else knows "speaks" to the public and triggers their enthusiasm." (Cahiers Maria Szymanowska (N°1/Autumn 2021), “Elisabeth Zapolska Chapelle tells Maria Szymanowska”, interview with Filip Lech, p.29). Obviously Solène Péréda and Typhaine D are of this caliber of performers!
