Elisabeth Zapolska-Chapelle

Elisabeth Zapolska (1954-2020) –  Polish opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and philologist, established in France, long committed to the promotion of Polish culture and creative women. Founder in 2009 of the Maria Szymanowska Society, she is the author of the project Maria Szymanowska (1789-1831), a Woman of Europe. In 2011, she recorded with Bart van Oort – on Broadwood 1825 piano – Ballads and Romances of Maria Szymanowska, in world premiere, published on CD by Acte Préalable and, in 2019, still with Bart van Oort – on Anton Zierer 1825 piano – Romance à Joséphine Women's Songs in Maria Szymanowska's time, on Salto Records International. She is at the initiative of the Polish cultural year Maria Szymanowska 2019, voted unanimously by the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
